3 Reasons Why You May Need A Dental Implant

Dental implants were created to replace missing teeth, and they are anchored directly into the gums and into the jaw bone. No matter how you get your tooth knocked out, you can have your tooth or teeth fixed once again by getting dental implants. The dental implants will look just like your natural teeth, and will be made to match the color, shape, and overall appearance of your natural teeth.  There are a few different reasons why you may need a dental implant, and this article will discuss 3 of these reasons.

Knocked Out Tooth

Accidents happen all of the time, and sometimes one or more of your teeth may get knocked out during an accident. Your teeth may get knocked out during a sporting event mishap, such as a baseball to the mouth or a wrestling move gone wrong. You may also lose a tooth by falling down the stairs or running into an object. When this occurs, you can have a single dental implant tooth placed in your mouth for each tooth that was knocked out.

Rotted Tooth

Another reason that you may need to get dental implants is if one or more of your teeth are rotted out. Gums and teeth can become infected, and often times the tooth is so far gone that the only way to remove the infection is to remove the entire tooth. A tooth implant can then be put in place of this tooth because so that you are no longer left with a large gap in your mouth. Even if the tooth removed is at the back of our mouth, it is still a good idea to have a dental implant put in so that your teeth don't shift in your mouth and become crooked.

Disease

If some type of cancer, calcium disease, or other type of disease or disorder has caused your teeth to fall out or become brittle and damaged, then dental implants may be an excellent solution for you. The teeth that are in poor condition will simply be removed from your mouth, and a full set of dental implants will be placed in your mouth to replace all of your missing teeth. These are a great alternative to dentures because the teeth will actually be attached to your jaw, rather than being removable. This means that dental implants will likely fit better into your mouth, and you won't have to worry about food getting stuck underneath them.
